On True Blood Season 6, Arlene was surprised to learn Terry had a $2 million life insurance policy, leaving his family pretty darn wealthy. And on Season 7 it sounds like Arlene will be the object of a hot vampire’s fancy.
According to Deadline, actor/singer Riley Smith (he played Riley Wallace on the final season of 90210) has been cast on True Blood Season 7 as Keith, described as a “sexy, rock ‘n’ roll vampire with a romantic side.” Keith is a drummer in James’ (replacement actor Nathan Parsons) band and he’s said to become “smitten” with Arlene on first sight.
(Actor Riley, 35, is also known from Joan of Arcadia, 24, Freaks and Geeks, and Drive. And he has rock star creds as guitarist and lead singer of his band The Life of Riley.)
It’s not clear if Arlene is meant to return Keith’s affections or if it’s just an unrequited thing. (No one can replace Terry!) But executive producer Brian Buckner did give a little tease of what’s next for Arlene, telling Entertainment Weekly, “How does an Arlene who thinks she’s classy and well-to-do see herself? Money can’t really buy taste, can it?” Ha! That should be pretty interesting to see.
In other Season 7 news, TVLine says Anna Camp’s Sarah Newlin will not only be back, we'll meet her "Texas socialite parents and angry, bitter, gothed-out sister." Sarah has a goth sister? That should be pretty interesting to see too.
True Blood’s final season premieres this summer on HBO. Are you excited to see everything play out?
