Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) was very much on his own during Season 6 of True Blood as he ditched his vampire, shifter, and faerie pals in favor of his own pack, but Joe says his supernatural character will be back with the “core group” come Season 7, which premieres this Sunday night, June 22, at 9 p.m. ET.

While Alcide’s inclusion into the core group may not come as much of a surprise now that he’s married to Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), Joe says the werewolf of Season 7 is very different than what we’ve seen in seasons past. “He is domesticated [and] living in society,” the 37-year-old actor reports. “He isn’t the wild crazy wolf-guy anymore.”

And it sounds like Sookie is to thank for taming the wolf-man.

“[Sookie and Alcide] go to church on Sundays. He has to wear a blazer. He lives in gran’s house. He’s got a to-do list for the house. It’s different life for him. But it is what he has always wanted. He finally got the girl and he got the life,” Joe continues.

Alcide may be living his dream life now that he’s playing house with Sookie, but as Joe reminds us, not all is well in Bon Temps. “Now the only problem is that there are these marauding Hep-V psycho vampires destroying the world. There’s gotta be something,” he concludes.

We know that one character will face a “jaw-dropping” fate, but hopefully Alcide is in the clear now that he and Sookie are living happily ever after.
