Last night’s episode of True Blood Season 7 (“Fire in the Hole”) proved to be pretty sad for dozens of fans. Yet another one of our favorite main characters bit the dust, and we couldn’t believe who it was: hunky werewolf Alcide Herveaux.
That’s right, Alcide met his end when he was shot by members of the angry Bon Temps mob, bent on taking out all supernaturals in their town that could pose any kind of threat to their already dismal way of life. Though actor Joe Manganiello, who played Alcide for the past four seasons, said that he could’ve bet on his character dying on the show’s final season, we weren’t ready to see him go — especially since we were totally diggin’ his new look!
Some fans of the show, including Joe, thought that it only made sense for his character to pass in order to allow Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), Alcide’s girlfriend, to resolve issues with her lingering affections for vampire Bill Compton (Steven Moyer), but we’re still a little shell-shocked by one less shirtless hunk running around supe-filled Louisiana.
