Everything You Need to Know About The Authority on True Blood
The clandestine group of vamps known as The Authority are shrouded in mystery and bodily fluids, and it's about time we educate ourselves!
We don't know much about these bad boys and gals –– other than the fact that they promote the AVL, use high-tech equipment, and control the vampire monarchy –– but we're dying to know more.
Word on the street is that The Authority consists of seven vampires who are the most powerful blood suckers of all time (well, other than Tom Cruise circa Interview). Members include:
Roman: The Authority's founder who pioneers the AVL's mainstreaming movement. He also goes by "The Guardian."
Chancellor Drew: An ancient 9-year-old vampire who is known for his hot head and impetuous nature.
Rosalyn Harris: A bold n' beautiful Texan who helped settle the Old West.
Salome: A seductive Biblical sexpot.
Kibwe: A peace-loving gentleman who doesn't like capital punishment.
Nora: Eric's sister and a double-agent within The Authority.
Dieter Braun: An intelligence specialist and cold-hearted interrogator.
The Authority also includes several minions: Molly, Hayes, and Pasteur (who Bill mentioned during his '80s flashback).
So, what is this powerful group of vamps' main objective? Getting along with humans!
"There are two main factions really of the vampire society — the mainstreamers and the fanguenistas," Carolyn Hennesy explained to Wetpaint Entertainment (Rosalyn Harris).
"The mainstreams, the Authority, sees the wisdom of assimilating with society. They outnumber us. They’ve made all these incredible strides in the last 2,000 years, not the least of which is creating drinkable blood, synthetic blood for vampires, well if they can do that, what else? What else can they do to help the vampire society?
"And in order to be a part of that we have to assimilate and mainstream and let them know that we’re not really a danger. And that’s where the Authority is coming from."
Sounds like True Blood is about to get its politics on. Bill for President!
