Contrary to popular belief, True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard is not actually immortal.

Even though the sexy Swede plays vampire Eric Northman on television, he’s just a regular 36-year-old guy in real life.

A. Skars was born Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgård on Aug. 25, 1976 in Stockholm, Sweden. His father is famed actor Stellan Skarsgard and his mother — whose name is ‘My,’ which is adorable — is a doctor!

Alex is actually the eldest child in his family — and likely the tallest, too! He and his siblings are all very talented, with three of them as fellow actors (Gustaf, Bill, and Valter), his sister professionally modeling, (Eija), and his other brother, Sam, dabbling in other aspects of film.

And if that wasn’t enough, he also has two half-brothers from his father’s second marriage, Ossian and Kolbjörn. They are both too young to get into the family business, but we’re sure they’ll follow suit soon.

Regardless of how big Alexander’s family is, we know they all have great genes. Did you think that he was younger than 36 or did you guess his age correctly? Tell us below!
