Is Tara Really Dead? New Insights From True Blood's New Season 5 Promo

Last time we saw Tara, she was busy splattering her brain goo all over Sookie's kitchen. Girl, don't you know that linoleum tile is sacred fangbanging ground?!

It seems impossible that Tara could have survived a bullet to the brain, but after months of suspense and ugly-crying, we can finally look to True Blood's brand new season 5 promo for more clues about this troublemaker's fate!

An in-depth analysis of the promo makes it seem like Tara is definitely dead and gone. She doesn't show up once during the 30-second teaser (not even to snark Lafayette!), and Sookie is shown tearfully moping in the bathtub — which we chalk up to mourning.

We also catch a glimpse of Sookie sadly digging a hole in her backyard, which looks suspiciously like a grave. Way to give your bestie a proper burial, Sookie. Not.

Of course, we can't forget that Rutina Wesley already signed a contract for True Blood season 5. “It’s out there that Alan has already said that he has big plans for Tara,” Rutina confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. 

And that grave could be Debbie's, since Sookie shot her cold.

So, what have we learned? Tara will definitely be back this season, but from the looks of the promo, we're pretty sure she'll be a corpse.
