Playing a character that can transform into a werewolf on True Blood often requires nudity, and Joe Manganiello is totally cool with it.
"As far as the butt cheek stuff goes, it just makes sense," he tells Out magazine. "It’s not gratuitous; it’s realistic. If you’re a werewolf and you transform, you lose everything and there are your butt cheeks."
Luckily, Joe's got an amazing bod to show off when he does have to drop trou!
You'd think those abs and biceps were the reason director Steven Soderberg cast him in his upcoming male stripper movie, Magic Mike. Instead, Soderbergh called him up after seeing him on ... Chelsea Lately?
"That’s where I really found him compelling,” Soderbergh recounts. "Part of what we required was someone who could improv and bring a lot to the table. He was funny, smart, had a good energy, and was distinctive."
Of course, that body doesn't hurt, either.
" The joke on the set was he was walking CGI," says Soderberg. "At one point, we have him painted gold, and it’s pretty cool."
Cool? We'd say hot. Very hot.
While Joe looks like the popular jock from your high school, he was a "pretty gothic, dark kid."
"I remember getting in fights with guys on the football team for bullying artistic guys I was friends with," Joe says. "Internally, I was more of a weirdo artist."
And now that weirdo artist is a mega star!
