Jurnee Smollett-Bell spoke with Huffington Post Live to promote her new film Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor (along with Kim Kardashian!), but that didn’t stop her from giving some hints about her upcoming role on True Blood!
Jurnee will play Nicole Wright, “a young woman — an activist who comes to Louisiana to help with ‘the cause.’”
She’s hesitant to give out spoilers, but she does give us a taste: “I can’t say too much, but there’s some animals and some... biting involved.”
Deadline confirms that Jurnee will be a series regular, and described Nicole as “wide-eyed” and “not concerned with money and more concerned with the common good and doing what’s right.”
You may know Jurnee from her child star days as Denise Frazer on Full House and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, and from her appearances on Cosby. Recently, she’s known for playing Jess Merriweather on Friday Night Lights.
Jurnee and Amelia Rose Blaire were announced as new cast members back in January. Amelia will play Willa Burrell, Louisiana Gov. Truman Burrell’s daughter, “who has long clashed with her father over vampire rights.”
True Blood Season 6 premieres on June 16 at 9 p.m. on HBO. Are you excited for Nicole Wright and Willa Burrell?
