Once Upon a Time's Anastasia Griffith Joins Alan Ball's New Show, Banshee!
True Blood creator Alan Ball’s new Cinemax show, Banshee, may not include faeries like Sookie Stackhouse, but there will be a fairy princess in town.
TVLine reports that Anastasia Griffith — who played Princess Abigail/Kathryn in Once Upon a Time Season 1 — has signed on to play a “prison psychiatrist who treats Lucas,” aka the series’ main character.
Banshee centers around Lucas, an ex-convict who assumes the identity of a small Amish town’s sheriff, imposing his own brand of justice while being hunted by the gangsters he once betrayed.
In addition to having a dark, shifter-like vibe (as seen in the teaser trailer), Antony Starr, the show’s lead actor, is also from New Zealand — just like Anna Paquin! While he isn’t Canadian, we bet their accents could match up perfectly. Sounds like Alan Ball is sticking with what he knows!
And since former House executive producer, Greg Yaitanes, is also spearheading the project, it was no surprise that former doc Odette Annable recently signed on for a multi-episode arc, too!
