Tara Thornton has always been one of True Blood's most polarizing characters — you either love her or you hate her.

The feisty Merlotte's waitress has been through her fair share of victimization throughout the years, from playing puppet to a deranged vampire to selling her soul to a power-hungry maenad. And if that weren't bad enough, the only man she ever loved was killed by her best friend's brother. And that only scratches the surface!

Unfortunately, Tara failed to take control of her life while she was still human. Instead, she assumed a fake identity, engaged in some hot lesbian sex, and joined a witches coven. And we don't have to tell you how well that all worked out.

Honestly, we were a bit relieved when Tara took a bullet in the Season 4 finale. She was finally out of her misery, we thought. But as we learned in the Season 5 premiere, Tara is still very much alive. Er, dead. You know what we mean.

Much to our dismay, vampire Tara isn't much better than human Tara. While it's mildly entertaining to see her act all batty, she's still playing the victim, blaming everyone else for her newfound immortality. But on the upside, at least now she can eat anyone who gets in her way.

What do you think of vampire Tara? Did showrunner Alan Ball make the right plot choice, or will this new storyline harm the show? Tell us your feelings below!
