Let’s start off the week with news too weird to be anything other than True.

Half of the residents of the town of Doyline, La., had to leave their homes after state police discovered 6 million pounds of explosives stashed unsafely in local warehouses.

Doyline was the filming location for multiple scenes in True Blood — like the one in which Jason meets Amy in Season 1, Episode 7, or the one in which Sam runs naked through the woods in the following episode.

Explo Systems Inc. had been storing the ammunition propellant in boxes piled on pallets outside and packed into unauthorized structures at Camp Minden, a former Army ammunitions plant just north of the town.

State police superintendent Col. Mike Edmonson said that Explo’s “careless and reckless disregard made it unsafe for their own employees, for schoolchildren in Doyline, for the town of Doyline.”

He said that the police’s task now is to separate the explosives into quantities that wouldn’t pose a risk to the town’s population if it ignites.
