True Blood Season 5 Spoilers: Christopher Meloni Calls Roman "Obama With Very Long Incisors"

Can't we all give peace a chance? That's what True Blood's Roman, the head of the Authority, wants. But with warring factions among vampires, it won't be easy to achieve.

Christopher Meloni joins the cast this season as Roman, whom Alan Ball describes to TV Guide as "a politician who has a dream."

"Roman's determined. He wants peace, but others have been trying to stomp out his path," Chris adds. "Think Obama with very long incisors."

After 12 years playing cop Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: SVU, Meloni is relishing the chance to explore a new (though, in years, very old) character. 

"Elliot was free-form. Roman's more thoughtful — yet unafraid to pull the trigger. He's a man of action. Get the facts; get it done," Chris says. 

"But they both have a certainty of their view. They both think they're right."

And if an ancient and powerful vampire thinks he's right, you don't argue with him!
