Now that season 4 of True Blood has ended, we have one thing on our minds: Season 5!

Will Sookie start dating Alcide? And what’s the deal with Russell Edgington and Steve Newlin’s sudden return to the Podunk capitol of the world?

Pop your fangs in and find out now!

1. There will be (fresh) blood!

We lost more than a few of our favorite hillbillies during season 4, but luckily some new characters will step in and take their place.

“There will be a very significant, strong, mysterious woman at the center of one of our main stories next year,” True Blood’s co-executive producer Raelle Tucker tells Entertainment Weekly. “That will be a very familiar and compelling character. It may be someone you’ve heard of before.”

Could this be the return of Queen Mab and her goblin teeth?

2. We’re taking a trip to fairyland!

“Season 5 will explore more fairies, new fairies, fairies in a way you haven’t really seen fairies,” Raelle confirms. “We will all, as well as Sookie, come to understand fairies more than in previous seasons.”

Finally someone will explain the E.T. fingers!

3. Scott Foley spells trouble!

Scott Foley might be a hottie, but he’s going to bring chaos to Arlene and Terry’s marriage. Raelle says, “His arc has to do with Terry’s past coming back to haunt Bon Temps and Arlene and their life they’re trying to set up together.”

Sigh, is Alan Ball hating on another happy couple?

4. We find out the identity of Sam’s mysterious were-attacker!

Sam’s unexpected visitor is “someone you have never met before,” and could even be Alcide’s father, Jackson!

5. King Russell is back!

“Russell is not dead,” confirms Raelle. “It’s safe to assume the king of Mississippi is not gone for good.”

We think it’s also safe to assume Russell busted out of a parking lot and is wandering around Bon Temps ripping the spines out of local news anchors.

6. Steve Newlin has a surprise!

We assumed Rev Steve showed up at Jason’s house to spill some blood and guts, but apparently he has other things in mind.

“I will say that Steve’s reason for returning to Jason is not at all what you expect,” teases Raelle. Judging from the drool that escaped Steve’s mouth when he saw Jason’s danger zone, we’re going to assume the Reverend wants a little lovin’.

7. Sookie stays single!

Raelle says, “While there will always be romance in Sookie’s life, Sookie at the moment is choosing herself over all of them. I think that will continue to play into season 5.”

Does this mean Alcide doesn’t get his turn in Sookie’s shower?

8. Bill and Eric join forces

Bill and Eric committed treason when they killed Nan and her “gay storm troopers” and, according to Raelle, “the consequences of their actions in the finale are going to chase them for a while next year.”

Oh well, at least they have each other’s muscular shoulders to lean on.
