True Blood Star Denis O’Hare to Get Priestly on Law & Order: SVU

Going from depraved to divine, Denis O’Hare is leaving his True Blood role as Russell Edgington behind and guest-starring as Father Shea on an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU, TVGuide.com reports.

But he might need a stunt double! Father Shea is brutally beaten in the episode, and the brother of Fin’s (Ice-T) ex-wife is initially implicated, leading Fin to recruit the SVU team to come to his brother-in-law’s defense.

Interestingly, this is the second time Denis has played this character: He also appeared as Father Shea on a 2008 episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Denis also played a separate role on SVU, and played four different characters on the original Law & Order.

Seems like our friend Denis is the go-to guy for procedural day players! And more power to him. Just make sure you’re not too busy for a possible return to True Blood, okay, D?
