True Blood's Jessica Clark Reveals How She Landed the Role of Lilith - Exclusive!
For 27-year-old model-turned-actress Jessica Clark, landing the role of Lilith on True Blood was a dream come true. Not only was she a fan of the show prior to landing the gig, but she also went out for a completely different role just a few months earlier!
Although they ultimately went in another direction for that particular part, the experience proved invaluable for Jessica, who was able to meet True Blood creator Alan Ball and the show's team of writers. When casting for Lilith got underway, they remembered Jessica from her previous read and called her back in.
"I was lucky enough to be brought back in, and I was slightly more prepared this time," she told Wetpaint Entertainment. "But I love the show and hoped that came through in my audition work."
Jessica's fervor must have been immediately apparent because she was hired right on the spot!
"I had not been out of the room for less than 10 minutes when I got a call that they were offering me the role," she dished. "I was actually going to meet a friend for lunch afterwards, and I was like, 'I got the part! I got the part! I got the part!' I had never had a call that quickly before for anything."
After Jessica's performance in last week's episode, it's safe to say Alan and company made the right decision!
