True Blood's Joe Manganiello Returns to How I Met Your Mother in Season 8

A few years before Alcide set paw in Bon Temps, True Blood star Joe Manganiello was in a serious brunch-loving bromance with How I Met Your Mother’s Marshall.

Now, out of the blue, Joe “has signed on to reprise his role as Marshall’s law school chum Brad in two episodes of the CBS hitcom,” TVLine reports — and he may be harboring a hilarious secret.

Last time we saw Brad, he was awkwardly confiding to Robin that he “was born a little different below the belt,” so there’s not only a chance that he’ll be dropping trou, but that he’ll also be cracking a few jokes.

“There’s going to be a few more [returnees] from deeper into the past as we near the end of the series,” HIMYM co-creator Craig Thomas told TVLine. “Just funny people we always wanted to write for more and play with more.”

How I Met Your Mother Season 8 premieres on Sept. 24, 2012 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS
