Kristin Bauer van Straten — who plays our favorite sassy vampire, Pam, on True Bloodtalked with HuffPost Live recently about her love for her job, the nitty-gritty of filming, and the timeframe for shooting Season 6.

“I love HBO, and then Alan Ball, and then vampires,” she gushed. “Those three things I heard before the audition and wanted to hear no more, ‘cause I still have to go in and get the job.”

“We never get bored with this show... It feels really good as an actor. You get to evolve over four seasons. [...] Every year when I think and imagine what I might be doing next year, when I read it, it’s always better.”

She also commented on the logistics of filming True Blood, like dealing with the gore — "On the set it’s comical. On the set it’s funny. [...] The bloopers are amazing" — and speaking Swedish — “When I have to speak another language, it’s frightening.... It’s memorizing gibberish.”

She confirms that production for Season 6 is already ramping up, saying that she had to go in for a wardrobe fitting that day. “It’s like Christmas for me. I just go in and see this rack of Pam.”

The full interview is 30 minutes long, and Kristin also talks about Out for Africa, her upcoming elephant- and rhino-poaching documentary. Check out the complete video here.
