Bon Temps is pretty much the supernatural version of a melting pot, and random murder-happy supes just can't get enough of the gumbo! The newest addition? A Smoke Monster, aka Ifrit!

This toxic cloud of flame and ash popped up in Louisiana during Sunday's game-changing episode, and it's only a matter of time before it drifts over to Bon Temps and tries to kill Sookie.

So, what's the deal with Ifrits? They first appeared in middle eastern mythology as a gigantic winged monster made out of fire, and apparently these guys love nothing more than hanging out in ruins, and often live in monarchies. Ifrits have been known to marry humans, so you know what that means: Expect Sookie to have Smoke Monster sex any day now.

Some Ifrits are fun loving and completely adorable, but make no mistake: They're extremely powerful. Human weapons can't kill them, but they can be destroyed through the use of magic. Calling all Brujos!

Ifrits appear in the Qur'an and in early Arabic folklore, where it's said they can be created from the blood of a recent murder victim. This makes sense considering that a half-dead old lady cursed Terry and his unit to "Death-By-Ifrit" on True Blood.

Of course, we can't forget that one Ifrit who attacked Gandalf in Lord of The Rings. You shall not pass!
