You Asked, We Answered!

Anna Paquin currently wows us as faerie Sookie Stackhouse on True Blood  but she kick started her career as an Oscar-winning actress at the mere age of 11.

As a young girl in New Zealand, she wasn’t planning on becoming an actress, but was picked out of a crowd of girls during an open call for 1993 movie, The Piano. After winning an Oscar for her supporting role — beating out her on-screen mom, Holly Hunter — she played Young Jane Eyre in Jane Eyre and fan favorite Amy in Fly Away Home, both in 1996.

Anna had a handful of memorable, sassy quotes as Mckenzie in She’s All That and Polexia in Almost Famous, but she didn’t have her true big break until 2000’s X-Men. The first supernatural creature that our favorite faerie played was Rogue, aka Marie, in all three films in the trilogy (X-Men, X2, and X-Men: The Last Stand.)

Soon after, she started filming True Blood and has not done as many movies since, but she reunited with Fly Away Home co-star in 2005’s The Squid and the Whale, starred in her brother’s movies (Blue State in 2007 and Open House with husband Stephen Moyer in 2010), joined an all-star cast (including Katie Holmes, Josh Duhamel, Adam Brody, and Malin Akerman) in The Romantics, and starred in Margaret last year — just to name a few.

For now, though, she’s taking care of her new twin babies instead of focusing on her career. (That is, until True Blood starts back up again in 2013!) She completed two movies earlier this year (Free Ride and Straight A’s) and will start filming Black Wings Has My Angel with Elijah Wood and The Avengers’ Tom Hiddleston in the next year or so.

We’ve loved following Anna’s career for the past two decades, but what about you? Are you a fan of her movies? Tell us below!
