There’s nothing sexier than a well-educated man, and thankfully, True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard is one smart cookie!

Back in 1996, A. Skars studied English at Leeds Metropolitan University in Leeds, England, but dropped out after six months of partying and “having a blast” in school.

He moved on to a theater course at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, but continued his pattern, dropping out after six months and moving back to Stockholm, Sweden, his hometown.

However, even though he dropped out of both programs, he was bit by the acting bug and moved to Los Angeles to start his career, obviously gaining huge success after a few films — and eventually joining our favorite show, True Blood!

His fame paid off in a different way last year, on July 21, 2011, when his first school, Leeds Metropolitan University, presented him with an honorary degree! And it wasn’t just any ol’ degree — it was a doctorate in the arts!

So … should we just call him doctor now? He can check us out anytime!
