Eagle-eyed fans of Anna Paquin may have seen a peculiar name in the credits of a couple of her movies: Andrew Paquin. No, that’s not Anna’s drag name. It’s the name of her brother, who happens to also be in showbiz and who has collaborated with his little sis on two movies.

Andrew is listed as a producer (and Anna as an executive producer) on Blue State, the 2007 romcom in which Anna stars alongside Breckin Meyer, who plays a Democratic campaign worker who follows through on his promise to move to Canada when George W. Bush is reelected.

But more recently, Andrew wrote and directed Open House, a crime thriller starring both Anna and Stephen Moyer (plus Battlestar Galactica vet Tricia Helfer). It made its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2010 before being released nationwide on DVD.

And what was it like directing his sister? “It was fantastic… but I was nervous because she's such a good actress,” he told People. “We only had two days together, and it was my first time directing, and I wanted to do a good job. But she made my life pretty easy as a director. She knows her lines perfectly, and she understands her character.”

He also produced two shorts, a web series, and the 2009 Renee Zellweger comedy New in Town.

And, most excitingly, he has nothing but great things to say about his sister’s marriage to Stephen Moyer, whom he described as “an amazing husband to Anna and a great brother-in-law,” adding, “She's in very good hands. Steve's a lovely man and a really great guy. He's become a very good friend. Everything is great and I'm really happy for them.”

For the record, Anna also has an older sister, but her name doesn’t start with “an”: she’s called Katya, and she's the partner of the co-leader of New Zealand’s Green Party.
