Who is Jason Stackhouse?
A former High School football star and the handsome older brother of Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) is the ladies man of Bon Temps. Orphaned at an early age, Jason and Sookie were raised by their grandmother, Adele, who was later murdered.
Adele Stackhouse was just one in a series of murder victims initially blamed on Jason. In total, Jason was accused of murdering three other women, including waitresses Dawn Green, Maudette Pickens, and Amy Hurley. Rene Lenier was eventually found responsible for the murders, and Jason’s name was cleared.
Shortly after, Jason embraced God and joined the Fellowship of the Sun church, but left after he became entangled in an affair with the pastor’s wife and discovered the church’s plans to eradicate vampires. He finally found his true calling by becoming a Deputy at the Bon Temps police department, and now helps Detective Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) defend the city against maenads and other threats.
Jason’s love life is complicated; his werepanther girlfriend Crystal tried to turn him into a permanent sperm donor, and he betrayed best friend Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack) by having an affair with Hoyt’s girlfriend, the gorgeous redheaded vamp Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll). Jason recently lived up to his heroic aspirations by helping Sookie and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) lead an assault on The Vampire Authority, where he valiantly killed several vampire and human guards.
