Jesus Velasquez is an orderly at a nursing home where he takes care of Lafayette’s mother, Ruby Jean Reynolds. He soon begins a romantic relationship with Lafayette, but leaves once he finds out that Lafayette is a drug dealer. Jesus reveals that he is a "brujo" (witch) who learned magic from his grandmother.
