She’s brash and feisty but you can always count on Tara Thornton to say exactly what’s on her mind. Tara has been Sookie Stackhouse’s best friend since childhood. The daughter of an alcoholic mother, Tara spent much of her time growing up with Sookie and her grandmother Adele Stackhouse.
Tara strong-armed her way into Merlotte’s as a loud-mouthed bartender. She had a fling with owner Sam, and later took up with “Eggs,” a fellow adoptee of the maenad Maryanne Foster. Tara suffered from PTSD after being taken hostage and freeing herself from the vampire Franklin Mott and left Bon Temps.
