True Blood has never shied away from controversial issues, from homoeroticism to incest and everything in between. While HBO's hit supernatural show has always presented an allegorical critique on religion, Season 5 took it to a whole new level.

This season, we watched the vampire Authority transform into a theocratic terrorism regime that used religious texts to justify its barbaric behavior......

Well, this is awkward. We appear to be in the midst of a human vs. vampire war, and we just don't know whose side to take. While we'd love to unite with our human sista-friends, years of writing fan fiction has led us to believe that we're half-vampire — waiting for our fangs to grow any day now — so color us conflicted.
