Actress Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) has never been shy about her bisexuality — calling it “not made up” and “not a lack of decision” back in 2010 — and now the married mother of twins is declaring that she’s content to be just that, “a happily married bisexual mother,” which you can hear more about in the video above.
Anna’s declaration came to us via Twitter just in time for LGBT Pride Month, and in addition to stating that she’s “proud to be a happily married bisexual mother,” Anna also added another worthy tidbit. “Marriage is about love, not gender,” she concluded.
We’re thrilled to say that Anna’s views on sexuality and love didn’t elicit any naysayers or negative comments on Twitter, which is pretty much unheard of given all the haters trolling social media these days. But even if there was some negativity, at least the 31-year-old knows she’s setting a good example for two-year-old twins Poppy and Charlie, whom she raises with her True Blood co-star-turned husband, Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton).
Anna may have an accepting set of beliefs she wants to impart on her twins, and hopefully the modern day kiddos won’t question them, but we can’t say the same about those infamous True Blood scenes. Here’s hoping Anna and Stephen have a talk ready when Poppy and Charlie reach the age where they can turn on the TV or hop on the Internet!
True Blood Season 7 premieres June 22 on HBO at 9 p.m. ET.
