The Truth Behind Selena Gomez’s Promise Ring From Justin Bieber — Report

After Selena Gomez showed up to this year’s We Day event donning a ring on that finger, rumors were swirling that on-again, off-again beau Justin Bieber had popped the question. Did her simple gold band mean more than just a fashion statement? Whether or not it has any significance to her relationship with Justin, the ring made a second appearance when Selena hit the Kids Choice Awards over the weekend.

So what’s the ring about? Are Selena and Justin planning to tie the knot in the future? What’s going on?! We need to know! Fortunately, Hollywood Life is giving us a little insight into the situation — although none of the info is confirmed, so maybe we shouldn’t start picking out bridesmaid dresses just yet.

“The ring was a gift from Justin,” a source close to the recently reunited couple says. “It’s not an engagement ring, but they are back on and very serious.”

So serious that jewelry is now involved? Hmm.

And although Selena obviously loves her ring, reportedly, her family isn’t too into the idea of Sel committing to Justin like that. Considering the fact that they don’t seem to be the biggest of Beliebers in the first place, we’re guessing this isn’t helping get Justin back in their good graces.

“Her family is extremely worried that she’ll do something crazy like elope with him,” the source adds. “Selena is totally wrapped back up in Justin. It’s the same pattern happening all over again.”

Despite her lapse in judgement for giving Justin the time of day, we like to think Selena is a level-headed girl who wouldn’t do anything so outrageous, but time will tell! Let’s wait and see if the ring remains a permanent fixture on Selena’s finger first.
