The Girl Meets World writers' room got a Twitter account earlier this week, and we've been refreshing our homepages furiously ever since. And now that they're teasing who the first series guest star is, well, we're chomping at the bit.
Yesterday, the writers tweeted, "Today we decided who the first guest star returning from Boy Meets World will be." Not content to leave it vague — or better yet, just give us the answer — they responded to their thousands of speculating followers with "Here's your hint: One of you is right." Considering the guesses ran the gamut of the whole series, it's not much of a hint — although it may be a reference.
Earlier today, we got another hint. "Shawn? Eric? Really? So fast? Don't you want to start on the other side of the school?"
At first glance, it looks like they're referring to a faculty member. Is it Mr. Feeny?! We know he visited the set at one point.
But the tweet could also be a reference to one of BMW's infamous plot holes: the disappearance of major characters without explanation. In the fifth season finale, "Graduation," super-nerd Stuart Minkus appears for the first time since Season 1 and says he's been on the "other side" of the school with Mr. Turner. (Jonathan Turner was a major character in seasons 2-4, even stepping in as Shawn's guardian briefly.) Stuart was played by Lee Norris, who also played Marvin "Mouth" McFadden on The CW/WB's One Tree Hill.
Of course, maybe the reference is just a fake-out. The writers do seem to enjoy watching us squirm!
