It’s a new year and you know that means? New hair — at least for former child star Tamera Mowry-Housley! The former Sister, Sister star recently took to Instagram to showcase the “big chop” she made in an effort to transition back to her healthy, natural curls.
“Love my big chop...love my curl doctor @shaiamiel You did it again,” she captioned a photo of herself with a short wavy coif.
Back in December, Tamera let fans in on the fact that her hair had undergone serious damage at the hands of a stylist with a flat iron.
“It all began when a hair stylist used a marcel HOT IRON on my hair and ruined it. I cried, but it's only made me appreciate the hair I was born with. Ladies embrace your curls,” she captioned a photo of her heat-damaged hair, adding that this was the “Beginnings of my curly hair journey. It starts with a cut! You don't always have to do a big chop! Like me, I'm doing it gradually. Learn to love your natural hair. Thanks @shaiamiel for mine:) I'll post transition hair styles soon:)”
It seems that Tamera has opted out of gradually cutting away her hair and wanted to get rid of her damaged locks for good.
Back in 2012, Tamera’s sister, Tia, rocked a super sexy pixie cut to represent her new attitude and outlook on life. Tamera expressed her fear of cutting her hair during an episode of their reality show Tia & Tamera, but it looks like the daytime talk show host is scared no more!
