While we wait with bated breath for news of Hayden Panettiere or Zachary Quinto's role-reprisal in the upcoming Heroes miniseries — because they're not busy enough, right? — we have at least one returning character from the original series to tide us over! Jack Coleman has officially signed on for Heroes Reborn, NBC's 13-episode reboot, according to Deadline.
Jack will reprise his role from Heroes as Noah Bennett, also known as HRG (for "Horn-Rimmed Glasses"), father to cheerleader Claire (Hayden). Plot details have been few and far between, and it's unclear how much follow-up we'll get on other characters — but since Noah started the original series as an agent with the Company, we can see how he'd fit into the lives of a whole new set of heroes.
While NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke has said that the network "won't rule out the possibility of some of the show's original cast members popping back in," no other actors from Heroes have been confirmed yet — although rumor has it, says Deadline, that Zachary (Sylar) and Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli) are both unavailable. However, series creator Tim Kring is on-board.
Heroes aired from 2006 through 2010, while Heroes Reborn is slated for 2015.
