Uh oh, Survivor fans, it looks like there’s blood in the water over on CBS, as the show kicked off its 27th season down to the lowest fall premiere rating its ever seen! But we shouldn’t be worried about the show’s survival just yet. Although Zap2It reports that Survivor: Blood Vs. Water premiered down to a 2.6 ratings share among the key demo of 18-49 year olds, CBS probably won’t be voting it off the network any time soon.

According to the ratings site, everyone’s favorite original reality show was down a lot from its fall 2012 premiere, when it achieved a 3.2 ratings share — for those of you who are keeping score, that’s a 19% drop from the previous year.

But while we are a little worried about what that means, fan fervor for the cut-throat throwdown hasn’t wavered a worrying amount. Compared to its Season 26 opener Survivor: Caramoa — Fans vs. Favorites, which premiered on February 13, 2013, this season is actually up eight percent. In fact, the September 18 episode had 9.52 MILLION viewers tune in to watch the bloodbath begin.
