The Season 5 finale of Breaking Bad is still four days away, but one star has already landed himself a new gig. Bryan Cranston, who plays the notorious AMC anti-hero Walter White, will return to TV in a much more lighthearted role. He’ll be back on How I Met Your Mother as Hammond Druthers, CBS announced earlier today (September 25) via Twitter

HIMYM fans will remember Hammond as Ted Mosby’s (Josh Radnor) boss at his architectural firm.

The last time we saw the pain-in-the-butt manager, the tables had turned and Ted had become Hammond’s boss and was trying to fire him. Unfortunately for Ted, the time never seemed right. When he finally did get around to breaking the bad news, Hammond ended up having a heart attack (which Ted thought he was faking)!

Look for Bryan to appear on set later in the series, which kicked off its finale season this week. We’re just happy to hear the actor hasn’t been typecast as a meth-making chemistry teacher for the rest of his career. But what if HIMYM does decide to have a little fun with Bryan’s famous role? Perhaps Hammond returns as the Heisenberg of CBS, Blue Sky and all. We’re sure Neil Patrick Harris could do a hilarious Aaron Paul impersonation.
