Whether you love it or love to hate it, Duck Dynasty is here to stay.

The Season 4 premiere of the A&E reality series shattered cable ratings records. Over 11 million tune in every week to see what kind of redneck shenanigans the Robertson clan will get themselves into next, and with their duck call business on the the rise, Willie and Co. are bonafide celebrities. In fact, they’re even the subject of tabloid fodder!

Willie and wife Korie covered the most recent issue of Us Weekly (September 7, on stands now), and the mag delved into the Robertson family’s deepest secrets. Here are nine interesting things we learned about the Duck Dynasty fam — from beards to the dark truth behind Phil and Miss Kay’s not so “happy happy” marriage.

1. Willie turned down a spot on Survivor! We think he made the right call. We know he’d rather longue in the RV (aka “Redneck Vacation”) than get his hands dirty roughing it in the woods. Jase, however, would be a perfect fit for the CBS series. After all, this is the man who once said, “You can talk any redneck into a challenge. That's why so many rednecks die in strange ways.

2. Jase has two pairs of pants total. Is anyone really surprised by this? He’s been “showing up late and dirty” his whole life!

3. Phil doesn’t own a cellphone. Phil is an old soul. He doesn’t need technology to make him “happy happy happy.” Just give him some camo and a hunting gun, and he’ll be just fine.

4. Jep shampoos, conditions, brushes, and blow-dries his beard. “He’s got all these special lotions and perfumes that he puts on,” Willie told Us Weekly. We like that Jep likes to keep his facial hair clean and tidy for his wife Jessica. (Did you know they tied the knot only four months after they started dating back in 2001?)  If only the other Duck men were that considerate.

5. Uncle Si drinks two gallons of unsweetened ice tea a day. Of course Uncle Si drinks two gallons of tea per day! Si is never seen without his famous blue Tupperware plastic cup. His mother sent it to him when he was in Vietnam, and he’s carried it with him ever since. So not only is Uncle Si a tea lover, he’s also a sentimental old sap! But we have to agree with Jase on this one: “I would rather play pattycake with a dead mouse then touch your tea cup, Si.”

6. The original concept for the show was very different. “When we were first discussing doing the show, Willie and I flew to L.A. to meet with the production company,” Korie told Us Weekly. “They said, ‘The show would start out with the wives waking up at dawn and going varmint hunting to get meat for dinner.’ I said, ‘Whoa. hold on, you’ve got the wrong wives!’” Can you imagine Korie on a hunting trip? She’s not exactly fit for physical labor — unless it involved wrangling her and Willie’s five children to the dinner table!

7. Not everything was always “happy happy” for Phil and Miss Kay. Phil and Kay’s marriage hit rock bottom in the ‘70s when he drunkenly accused her of cheating and kicked her and their three sons (then just Alan, Jase, and Willie) out of their home. Three months later, he begged Kay to take him back, telling her he couldn’t live without his family. She introduced him to Christianity and ever since, things have been “happy happy” for the Robertson clan.

8. Jase and Missy were virgins when they got married. Missy and Jase met when they were teenagers, and they were married in 1991. "We were both virgins when we got married until our wedding night," Jase said in an interview with K-Love. "We decided to do it God's way and basically had a godly agreement that we would help each other get to heaven. A lot of people think that unreasonable or preposterous, but if everybody chose to do it God’s way, everybody would be a lot better off.” Aww! This makes us love Jase and Missy even more. Not only have they been happily married for over 22 years, but they’ve stayed true to their convictions.

9. Korie loves Willie’s beard — she doesn't want him to shave it! We’re pretty sure the Robertson men have their beards insured for millions of dollars at this point.
