Amber Tamblyn’s role as on Two and a Half Men is shaping up to be a full-time job! While the star, who is probably best known for her title role in the 2003-2005 series Joan of Arcadia, was originally only signed for a five-episode recurring role, she is now locked in for the whole season, according to Deadline.
Jenny, Amber’s character on the show, is the illegitimate daughter of the late Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen), and has pretty much everything in common with her dad... including his love for the ladies. As for the question of why the series execs introduced Amber’s boozy, womanizing character in the first place, Amber seems to be filling the “half man” role left vacant when actor Angus T. Jones divorced himself from the series, calling it “filth”. Angus had been playing Alan’s (Jon Cryer) son, Jake.
We scratched our heads a little when Amber’s casting on the show was first announced, not only because of the wackiness of the role, but because it didn’t seem like the sort of project Amber would be into. However, the change-up went off well with viewers and she seems happy to be on board the hit CBS comedy.
We guess this means we can expect the series to have even more girl-on-girl jokes than it did when Charlie Sheen was the star!
