A piece of bad news today for Jennifer Love Hewitt, whose TV series, The Client List, got the ax. Lifetime decided to drop the series after two seasons, according to a TVLine report.

The cancellation may come as a result of creative differences between lead actress and executive producer Jennifer, Lifetime, and Sony TV. Back in June, Deadline reported the newly pregnant Jennifer was pushing for Brian Hallisay, her real life fiancé and the father of her unborn child, to play her character’s baby daddy on the show. The casting suggestion reportedly didn’t sit well with producers.

Beyond diverging opinions over plot lines, The Client List was also slipping in ratings during Season 2, dropping from 2.7 million viewers for the March 10, 2013, premiere to 2 million by the June 16, 2013, finale.

Adding to the list of reasons for cancellation: Lifetime has two new popularity series to focus on — Witches of East End and the already renewed Devious Maids — plus another season of Drop Dead Diva, also produced by Sony.

Sadly for Jennifer, it would seem this time she just didn’t make the list.
