Long live the queen! It seems like fans are proving to be loyal subjects for Reign, the new 16th century drama surrounding a teenage Mary, Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane) as she navigates the tumultuous landscapes of both politics and love. The CW announced they were bestowing a full season upon the fabulous freshman series.

Mary and the rest of her royal friends will be sticking around for at least nine more episodes, bringing the season from 13 to 22 episodes.

In other good news, The Originals and The Tomorrow people also got full-season pickups, proving that The CW had amazing taste when choosing their new fall shows. So far, The Originals has been killing it in the ratings, and though Reign and The Tomorrow People haven’t quite matched The Originals’ stellar ratings, they have proven to be steady contenders.

“We're excited about the creative momentum the producers have established for all three of our new series, and now our fans will have the chance to see the full stories unfold for them this season,” CW president Mark Pedowitz says. “With the additional episodes ordered, plus two new dramas and new reality for midseason, we’ll be able to continue our commitment to adding more original programming all year long.”

Luckily for Reign, they have the lead-in of The CW’s biggest hit, The Vampire Diaries for support, while The Originals airs before the long-running fan-favorite, Supernatural.

Those shipping Mary and Francis (Toby Regbo) will get to see the full twist of surprises awaiting the royals and their pals well into 2014.
