In our recap of tonight's elimination episode, 23-year-old Olympic weightlifter Holley Mangold was surprisingly given the boot from the show, having dropped the least amount of weight on her team.
After a challenge involving filling trucks with food for the underprivileged, Holley's blue team loses the weigh-in. The scale shows that Holley has gone from 291 pounds to 288 pounds. Among the other members of her team, Matt went from 290 to 281, Chelsea dropped from 197 to 191, Hap went from 340 to 334, and Bobby was down from 293 to 284.
Holley is sad to leave but has a great attitude about the show. She says that being on the show has been the best experience of her life, aside from competing in the Olympics. Trainer Bob Harper is in tears as Holley leaves, and he says it's been a joy to work with her.
Holley competed in the 2012 London Olympic games as one of two female weightlifters from the U.S. She sadly suffered a wrist injury shortly before her event, and she ultimately landed in 10th place out of 14 people.
In 2011, Holley was the subject of an episode of MTV's True Life, with the episode entitled, "I'm the Big Girl."
We wish Holley all the best moving forward, and we're impressed with how much progress she's made over the course of the show.
