Remember last week when Sarah Palin took to her social media outlets to voice her outrage at the media backlash following Phil Robertson’s GQ interview? Well, the former VP hopeful is now admitting that she didn’t actually read the article, and thus, doesn’t know exactly what the Duck Dynasty star said.

The Alaska-based politician stopped by Fox News Channel's On the Record with Greta Van Susteren earlier this week to discuss the scandal. As she was one of the first people to defend the A&E reality star after he was attacked for his anti-gay sentiments in the January issue of GQ, Greta asked Sarah if she thought Phil had been too graphic when he said, "It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man's anus.”

Apparently, Sarah wasn’t aware of this. "I haven't read the article,” she replied. “I don't know exactly how he said it." Huh. So how can you defend someone when you don’t even know what you’re defending?

“Free speech is endangered species,” Sarah posted on her Twitter and Facebook accounts last week. “Those ‘intolerants’ hatin' & taking on Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing personal opinion take on us all.”

We wonder if Sarah would change her tune once she actually read Phil’s words. Probably not, she seems very adamant to say this is a free speech issue (though A&E is a television network with the right to suspend who they wish). However, she might have been a little more careful about how she approached the situation.

Can you believe Sarah hasn’t even read Phil’s interview? Share your reactions below.
