By the beard of Odin, this is exciting news! One of the leading ladies in the Thor franchise is making a move to television. No, no. It’s not Natalie Portman (Black Swan the TV series? We think not.) Equally sexy actress Jaimie Alexander is heading on over to new hit, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Jaimie plays Sif in both Thor and sequel Thor: The Dark World, lending the blond god (Chris Hemsworth) a helping hand whenever his hammer isn’t enough. Loyal, brave, and fearless, she’s pretty much the biggest badass in Asgard — and that’s really saying something when talking about the Norse pantheon.

Now the 29-year-old actress will be trying her hand at the small screen in a guest appearance on Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. She’ll be joining in the superhero-sized fun as her warrior goddess counterpart, as announced by Marvel on January 17.

Sif has come to Earth with a very specific mission. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you just what brings her to our neck of the woods just yet,” the Marvel article teases.

Although additional details about her actual storyline are few and far between, Huffington Post associate television editor Laura Prudom says Sif will head Earth-side in Episode 15. We can’t wait!
