With the clock ticking down until the return of 24 in May, another big name has joined the cast.

Tate Donovan has been cast in the revival — a 12-episode miniseries dubbed 24: Live Another Day — taking a very spoilerific role.

TV Line reports that the 50-year-old actor will play White House Chief of Staff Mark Boudreau, an "astute and strong-willed political advisor" who happens to be married to the First Daughter, Audrey Raines (Kim Raver) — aka Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) ex-girlfriend.

The last time we saw Audrey, she was in a catatonic state after having been tortured by the Chinese government. We're glad to hear she'll Live Another Day!

Tate is an actor and a director best known for his roles on The O.C. and Damages. He most recently starred in the CBS series Hostages.

The original 24 series ran for eight seasons (and one TV film) between 2001 and 2010, following Counter Terrorism Unit agent Jack Bauer as he took down the baddies in real-time, with each season representing a full day.

Live Another Day will keep the series' real-time format but skip certain hours to still cover a full day in the span of 12 episodes. It premieres on Monday, May 5, at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.

T-minus 103 days and 6 hours, folks!
