President Obama better watch out — he and his fellow politicians are about to get the roasting of a lifetime from Community star Joel McHale, as the 42-year-old actor and comedian has just been selected as the host for the 2014 White House Correspondents' Dinner on May 3.

The dinner is a yearly gala put on by the White House Correspondents' Association, an organization of the journalists who cover presidential matters from that stately mansion at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

OK, it sounds like a snoozefest — but it's totally not, given that the likes of Conan O'Brien, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Kimmel have hosted.

Naturally, the annual affair includes a lot of playful teasing of the President, the administration, and the press itself.

But our current Commander and Chief has proven himself to be quite the cut-up, too, keeping the star-studded audience in hysterics with his impressive comic timing year after year.

But we'll see how well Mr. President does against Joel, whose satire is on full display in his other job — as host of E!'s The Soup.

"We're thrilled that Joel will headline the dinner when we celebrate our centennial,"  White House Correspondents' Association president Steven Thomma raved in a statement. "He's sharp, funny, and just the type of comic who can navigate the unique challenge of our dinner, making fun of Democrats, Republicans and especially the news media. Washington can use a little good-natured ribbing."

Bring it on!
