"Heads Will Roll" — literally that's the title of Episode 1 — when Under the Dome Season 2 premieres Monday, June 30 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.

Stephen King himself is writing the first episode, and The Powers The Be have said two major characters ("Dome favorites") will die in the premiere alone.

A new 1 minute 30 second preview for Season 2 was just released on March 14, with executive producers Neal Baer and Brian K. Vaughan previewing the season and talking about a couple of the new characters who will cause problems under the dome.

"The second season is going to take us to places where the book never got to go," Brian says in the sneak peek video. "Stephen King gave us some ideas we never imagined." (The show is loosely based on King's book, but the differences get bigger with each episode.) "We're really excited because [King] is bringing his usual twists and turns and shocking events," said Neal.

At the end of Season 1, Brian said, the characters realized the dome came from another world and was actually there to protect them. However, Neal added, "What's outside comes inside."

There are several new characters coming (even though the whole town is under a dome), including ER's Sherry Stringfield playing Pauline, "a mysterious woman who may be connected to the origins of the dome." We're guessing that's Pauline Rennie, aka Junior's mom and Jim's presumed dead wife. Eddie Cahill (CSI: NY) will play Big Jim’s brother-in-law, Sam; Karla Crome (Misfits) will play a schoolteacher named Rebecca; and Grace Victoria Cox will play Melanie, who ends up attracted to Joe (Colin Ford).

Which two major characters will die in Episode 1? Well, casting spoilers may give a hint on one of them: Natalie Martinez — who plays Sheriff Linda Equival — has joined the cast of ABC's Secrets & Lies. Can she be on both shows at once?

Are you ready to go back Under the Dome this summer? Are you worried about who might die or just worried about what new changes they’ll make to the book's story?
