Alison Sweeney has been through a roller coaster of weight loss as host of NBC’s The Biggest Loser, dropping a massive 30 pounds. Now the mother of two is spilling her secrets to Woman’s Day about how she make the pounds melt off  and stay off.

“I realized that getting in shape was about so much more than fitting into a certain size,” the 37-year-old actress tells Woman’s Day, saying she changed her thought process from “I wish I were thin” to “I want to be healthy.”

Sounds like the first step was getting in the right mindset so that things could start falling into place, allowing her to fully embrace a healthy lifestyle.

“I wanted to cook healthy meals and I was excited to be able to go for a 30-minute walk or jog,” Alison dished. “Exercise was key to me while I was writing my second novel. I’d step away from the keyboard and go for a walk to work through ideas and think about plot twists in new ways.”

But what is the big secret, besides all the diets and crazy workouts? Alison says you have to keep things “more fun” in efforts to stop the temptation to “skip” a workout.

Now that Alison has decided to leave Days of Our Lives after 21 years of the soap, we suspect she’ll have even more time to dedicate to keeping up the healthy lifestyle. She’s definitely one of our inspirations!
