If we’ve learned anything from watching Tatiana Maslany play nearly a dozen different characters on BBC America’s Orphan Black, it’s that she’s an exceptional actress. Well, it seems she may soon be joining forces with one of the most celebrated British actresses alive: Dame Helen Mirren.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tatiana is currently in talks to star in The Woman in Gold, a biopic about a Holocaust survivor’s struggled to regain family heirlooms stolen by the Nazis during World War II, including a Gustav Klimt painting. The film, ostensibly based on the book The Lady in Gold: The Extraordinary Tale of Gustav Klimt's Masterpiece, Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer, will star Helen Mirren in the lead role, with Tatiana playing a younger Helen in flashback scenes.

The film also will star fellow Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, who has been cast as the attorney leading the case to regain ownership of the stolen portrait from the Austrian government. With a top-notch cast like this, we expect this movie to be the darling of awards season. BBC Films has produced several Oscar-nominated films in recent years including Notes on a Scandal, Iris, and Philomena.

What do you think of Tatiana playing a younger Helen Mirren — inspired or totally off?
