It's been a long nine months since we last checked in with the 15 Division gang, but Rookie Blue is back on American screens — with Season 5 premiering on ABC on Thursday, June 19, at 9 p.m. ET.

And maybe ABC execs know that we've been in withdrawal because they're giving us a helluva fix with not one but two hours that night.

According to Global's synopsis for the premiere, Season 5 is going to get off to an emotional start.

With Sam (Ben Bass) headed into the O.R. and Chloe in critical care, Andy (Missy Peregrym) and Dov (Gregory Smith) try to take a break from the night’s traumatic events and head to an all-night diner to pull themselves together. But their desire to regroup and "not be cops tonight" is thwarted when two violent and agitated 20-somethings hold up the diner. Meanwhile, the other exhausted officers of 15 Division struggle to contain the collateral damage from the evening's chaos — under the watchful eye of tough new Inspector John Jarvis (Oliver Becker). Knowing he's needed at the station, Nick (Peter Mooney) goes rogue to track down Sam Swarek's next of kin. And in the end, Andy must face both the men she cares about, and share her heart-wrenching decision.

Rookie Blue returns to ABC on Thursday, June 19, at 9 p.m. ET.

Don't miss the episode.
