Update (July 9, 2014):
Great news! BBC America has renewed Orphan Black for a third season. The news was announced on July 9 during a Television Critics Association press event with the official Orphan Black Twitter account adding “Spring 2015.” We’ll see you then, Clone Club!
Original story (June 25, 2014):
Still reeling from that clone-tastic conclusion to Orphan Black’s second season? Us too, sestra.
But even as we scroll through recap after recap trying to make sense of what all went down (dance party GIFs for dayz, y’all) we’ve already got the itch to watch even more Orphan Black. So internet, riddle us this: When is the Season 3 premiere?
BBC America, the channel that introduced us to wonder woman Tatiana Maslany, hasn’t released an official start date yet but we’d buckle up for sometime in spring 2015. That’s been the chosen season for the previous two installments of the show; Season 1 premiered on March 30, 2013, and Season 2 aired April 19, 2014. Both ran a full 10 episodes until early June so we suggest just playing it safe and blacking out (get it?) that same general time period now.
Of course, that is if Orphan Black is actually renewed for a third season. The finale seemed to indicate No. 3 is on its way — can you say “cliffhangers”? — but there’s been no word yet that BBC America is onboard for Season 3. The channel announced the renewal for Season 2 in May of last year so what’s the hold up, guys? Our nerves are already frayed after last week’s episode. Any more stress and we’re going to go all Helena over here.
Will you watch a Season 3 of Orphan Black? Are there actually fans out there who’d pass?
