Nick Jonas's latest role takes him about as far from Disney as he can possibly get.

The 21-year-old stars in the new drama series Kingdom — opposite Frank Grillo (Prison Break), Matt Lauria (Friday Night Lights), Kiele Sanchez (The Glades), Joanna Going (House of Cards), and Jonathan Tucker (Parenthood) — set to premiere on October 8 at 9 p.m. ET on DirecTV's Audience Network.

Watch the trailer below to get a glimpse of both Nick and Matt showing off a lot of muscular skin. But be forewarned: The preview does feature salty language. Like, to the tune of 14 F-bombs.

The show focuses on Alvey Kulina (Frank Grillo), a legendary Mixed Martial Arts fighter, the owner of a gym, and the father of two fellow fighters, the up-and-comer Nate (Nick Jonas) and the hard-living Jay (Jonathan Tucker). Alvey also mentors Ryan, a former MMA star-turned-convicted criminal. In the picture as well are Alvey's strung out ex-wife, Christina (Joanna Going), and his current girlfriend (Kiele Sanchez).

If your first thought is, I saw this TV show when it was a David O. Russell movie called The Fighter, we're right there with you — but we're assuming the show will differentiate itself as it progresses.

And if you're too impatient to watch the whole trailer, the show can be neatly summarized by the following ridiculous quote of Alvey's: "You're my f—king family. Nobody can f—king change that. You're my boys. I love you. Now go f—king kick his face in."
