Matthew Hicks, aka the “Harry” in I Wanna Marry “Harry,” seems like a pretty regular chap. We mean, the guy worked for an environmental rights agency before his looks landed him a gig posing as a prince on national TV. So does he feel any kind of guilt for knowingly duping 12 (very nearsighted) American girls into thinking he’s actually Prince Harry?
Fox’s new dash of ginger has been chatting up every mic he’s come across in preparation for the May 20 debut of his new TV series. One of his stops: the radio show Dish Nation where the poor guy had to go on cougar watch after one of the hosts got particularly friendly.
Age gap awkwardness aside, Matt seemed totally at peace with his role in this royal deception. “I just play it mysterious and see what they come up with,” he says of the contestants. “Let them guess, come to their own assumptions. I mean, if they assume that, then who am I to say ‘no’?”
Point taken and honestly, is anyone a loser when they get to spend so much personal time with a British bloke as hunky as Matt?
Hear what else the faux prince has to say for himself in the video above. Then head to the comments to tell us if you’ll be watching!
I Wanna Marry “Harry” premieres Tuesday, May 20, at 9 p.m. on Fox.
