If Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s time behind the coffee-stained table of The View taught her anything, it’s how to voice her opinion. And boy did she ever in her latest tirade against Rosie O’Donnell.
Rosie, of course, has been tapped to return to the ABC staple in the wake of Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy's departure and the choice isn’t sitting well with Elisabeth, who left the show last year.
Calling in to her friends at Fox while away on vacay, Elisabeth unleashed a surprisingly heated attack on her fellow TV hostess. “What could ruin a vacation more than to hear news like this?” she begins. “I know Rosie very well. We worked quite closely. Talk about not securing the border!”
Once you get over that let’s call it interesting allusion to immigration issues, Elisabeth continues: “Here in comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there, coming back with a bunch of control ready to regain a seat at the View table.”
Elisabeth calls the news “not surprising” and thinks it’s “been in the works for a long time.” She claims Rosie even produced Barbara Walter’s goodbye show for her own gain. “Here’s the shocker. It was actually [Rosie’s] hello show.”
Good one, Elisabeth. Now slowly put down the phone and walk away.
