Chris Colfer on Twitter Hacking: It Was a “Pain in the Ass” (VIDEO)

Chris Colfer’s (Kurt) Twitter account was hacked just before the July 4 holiday, and given that the Glee star is now in the midst of a promotional tour for his third book, The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning, he’s had plenty of opportunities to address the recent social media snafu in which a hacker tweeted that he was leaving the FOX show just before the sixth season for “personal reasons.”

Chris is, of course, not leaving Glee, and during an appearance on The View on July 8 — which you can watch in its entirety in the video below — the ladies wasted no time asking him about the hacking scandal. “My password was like something from Fort Knox. I have no idea how it happened,” he told the gals, including his frequent Glee co-star Whoopi Goldberg. “I was on a plane coming back from London and as soon as the plane hit the ground my phone just exploded and I was, ‘Oh god I must be dead again.’”

Unfortunately Chris has been no stranger to a death hoax or two since first catapulting to fame thanks to Glee several years ago, but he soon realized this was a very different situation. “I found out then and it’s just been a pain in the ass,” he said referring to the flight back from London.

Chris soon learned, however, that he wasn’t the only Glee star to fall victim to hackers. Co-star Lea Michele’s (Rachel) Twitter was hacked just days later when her official account told followers that she was pregnant with a “baby boy.”

Like Chris’ Glee exit, Lea’s baby-to-be was also part of a hoax, but that didn’t stop Chris from finding some humor in the situation.“If she needs a babysitter I’ll be available,” he quipped with a laugh.

Twitter debacle aside, Chris then dished on what he hopes to see for Kurt in Glee’s final season now that we know he’ll be a part of it. “I just want him to be happy,” the 24-year-old said. “I don’t want him to be happy for someone else or by someone else, but happyfor himself. I think that would be a great way to end it.”

Did you ever have any doubts that Chris wouldn’t be returning for Glee Season 6? Check out his full interview on The View below and tell us your thoughts!
